"ask who is behind the platform. Patients should feel empowered to ask any telehealth service: who is your medical director, what is your clinical oversight structure, are you properly licensed in my state? Legitimate organizations are proud to answer. Evasiveness is a red flag."

What is a compounded medication?

A compounded medication is made by a licensed pharmacy for one patient, from a prescription, instead of being manufactured in advance. Compounded drugs are not FDA approved, and that includes every compounded GLP-1 sold online.

Each pharmacy makes its own, so the pharmacy you use matters.

"FDA is aware of fraudulent compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide marketed in the U.S. that contain false information on the product label. In some cases, the compounding pharmacies identified on the labels of the products do not exist."

U.S. Food and Drug Administration

API is the active ingredient a pharmacy buys to make your medication.

"Of the 48 GLP-1 API sites FDA evaluated, it found that 21% were noncompliant under section 501 of the FD&C Act"

What does “independent” mean?

It means we choose who fills your prescription. We built a grading matrix and have run more than eighty compounding pharmacies through it. The pharmacies that fill orders today are independent businesses, and neither one is owned by us or by our platform.

Each one is named on our pharmacy network page, with what they publish about themselves and why we chose them.

Questions

Common questions

What is a GLP-1?

GLP-1 is a hormone your body makes after you eat. GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide copy that signal, which lowers appetite and slows digestion. Tirzepatide also acts on a second hormone, GIP. Your provider decides which one, if either, is right for you.

Do I need to come in or have insurance?

No. Your visit is online or on video, and it's included in the treatment price. Insurance isn't needed.

What if the provider says no?

You're not charged. Your card is only charged if a licensed provider prescribes your treatment.

Who reviews my visit?

A licensed provider from Arora Health, our Seattle-based medical group.

Can my dose change?

Yes. Message your provider from your patient portal and they can adjust it.

Can I talk to a person?

Yes. Email hello@jointhebrightside.com or message us from your patient portal, and a person answers. You can also book a video visit with a provider at no extra cost.

Is compounded tirzepatide FDA approved?

No. Compounded medications are made by state-licensed pharmacies for individual patients and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. That's true of every compounded GLP-1, including ours.

Which pharmacy fills my prescription?

A licensed US pharmacy we chose. Our pharmacy network page names each pharmacy that fills orders today and why we chose it.

Every prescription feeds people.

You only pay if a provider prescribes.
